Belly to Baby Maternity | Preethi’s Vision Come True

With all of these beautiful newborns, it had been a while since I had a mommy-to-be in front of the lens. Maternity photoshoots have the ability to capture the instinctual love women develop for the life forming within their belly as they journey into motherhood. The bond that develops is simply indescribable. As a mom, I can tell you that it’s easy to become consumed with perfecting every detail, especially during pregnancy. We want our world as flawless as our new creation. As a photographer, I have found that sometimes it’s easy for client to get distracted from these enjoyable moments if mom can’t simply trust in the experience and let go. This session was a good reminder of how important it is to build trust with my clients. I can assure them that my photos will capture their maternal elegance while they bond with baby.

Chasing Waterfalls

Preethi had envisioned waterfalls in her maternity photos and in Austin there’s one place in particular that came to mind: The Zilker Botanical Gardens. The falls, rock structures and blooming succulents served as a perfect setting for these parents-to-be. While I usually offer a styling team for my maternity photo sessions, Preethi did an impeccable job with her own hair and makeup. With this being her first baby, her radiance was easily recognizable. As we walked through the garden, her and her husband flirted along the path, embracing the life they created. Their interactions were so organic, it was as if I wasn’t even there. It’s truly remarkable how a mother’s hands on her belly invoke such a strong connection between her and her child. I photographed the most incredible images of Preethi while she was simply loving her family, not caring about anything else. It brings me such joy to capture and share these maternal moments.
