So I haven’t been able to blog in a while so I figured it was time to start back up with this beautiful little newborn nugget names Sophia. On a side note I always spell her name Sophie as I have a Sophie but then correct it to Sophia.

She is the first child to her mommy and daddy and they like to call her Princess Sophia. She sure is a little Princess. She did really well with all her poses while mom and dad relaxed on my couch in the studio. I swoon over this gallery when I see it myself so I hope you do the same. If you do feel free to leave me some love in the comments section. 🙂

Another little girl stopped by my studio recently. Let me just say she was a beauty. Had the perfect skin and did a great job posing for all the different setups. My friend/assistant Lindsay and I were working away while mom and dad relaxed during Maelina’s session. It is important to me that my clients come to my studio and feel relaxed and at home. Some moms could be nervous about me handling their baby but it is nice when mom and dad’s trust in my ability and what I am doing. I honestly consider myself truly fortunate and lucky to do what I do. The photography market is overpopulated these days with newborn photographers and I know people have many options on who to go with but my goal is to win my clients over for life. I love when clients become loyal clients and come and see me for all their photography needs. That truly is the biggest compliment I can get. Aja asked for recommendations on a local mom site and liked my photography style best. It all starts with the style when choosing a photographer but I hope to build relationships that last for me to watch these cute babies grow. Can you guys just imagine how sweet this little newborn will be when she is 12 months?

This little peanut arrived earth side a bit earlier then her due date. On the day we did her session she was 12 days old but actually hadn’t passed her due date yet. Margot loved being swaddled and being stuck into props. She didn’t care much for my beanbag, which was fine with me because even though she didn’t want to be posed she was game for any prop shot I attempted to do with her. And can I just mention how gorgeous mommy+ baby and the family shots are?!?! I wish I had these shots to cherish for all 3 of my kiddos. I only have them with my third one.

I have to tell you all the story of how I met Katie and Madison. I was selling a nursery rocker on craigslist. Katie responded to my add and stopped by with her hubby to check it out. During their 10min visit it came up that I was a newborn photographer so I showed them my studio. Both were very impressed with my studio and admitted they hadn’t put much thought into newborn photographers yet. So they both left and bought my rocker from me. A couple weeks later I received an email from Katie saying they wanted to book me for their daughters newborn pictures. Maybe I should take this approach on marketing myself from now on. Either way it made for a funny story.

There is something about being pregnant for the first time that is so special. I can’t explain it but the excitement of the unknown is just such a magical feeling. Your life is about to change forever. You brace yourself for what you hear from other mamas but NOTHING… and I mean NOTHING can prepare you for what is to come. It is by far the best experience one can have (coming from a mom of 3)

Nina is a first time mama and due pretty soon. She will know what I am talking about before she knows it 🙂 I love taking my pregnant mamas to my favorite spot to shoot their sessions during the golden hour. We totally lucked out the day we went for her maternity pictures. Mid January might not be as cold as some places in the country but it usually isn’t warm. This day was a gorgeous 75 degree day. Cant beat it! I love being a maternity photographer in Austin, Texas for this very reason.

What can I say about Skylar…. she was a great newborn. I was able to do so many set ups with her. I will let her images speak for themselves. What I really want to mention is mom and dad. They were probably the most in love couple I have seen in a while. Skylar is their first baby and you can tell these two are on cloud nine right now. They are smitten with that new baby love. I remember that feeling when my husband and I had our first. It is such a special time that can never be duplicated. Even though you love baby 2,3,4, etc just as much it is never the same as it was with baby #1. My assistant Lindsay and I commented on it a couple times during their session. I am really fortunate to do what I do and experience these moments vicariously through my moms and dads.
